The purpose of this procurement is to replace the refractory and associated equipment in the EPA's rotary kiln incinerator simulator (RKIS) facility located in RTP, N.C. It is critical that the existing steel shell be re-used so that no additional costs are incurred in shaking down the rotation and seal assembly. This procurement will cover the removal of the kiln's rotating drum section, removal and disposal of the old refractory, casting of new refractory, replacement of the damaged trunnion assembly, and re-installation of the refurbished rotating drum section. Instructions for curing the new refractory must be provided by the contractor. The RFP will be issued approximately 06/03/96. Proposals will be due within approximately thirty (30) days after the RFP issuance date. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. The SIC Code is 3297 and the small business size standard is 750 employees. Only one copy shall be issued to a corporate entity, regardless of the number of requests from one or more different geographic locations. A copy of the requested source list will be provided at about the same time the solicitation is issued. Only written requests will be considered.
