The Western Area Power Administration has a requirement for the contractor to provide labor, materials, equipments, and other resources necessary to complete the upgrade of the Huron Substation, Stage 14, located in Beadle County, South Dakota, approximately 5 miles west and 7 miles north of the City of Huron. The principal components of work include: removing concrete foundations, removing stub structures, removing electrical equipment, excavation from barrow, excavation for foundations and trenches, constructing embankments, backfill and gravelfill, performing concrete work which includes foundation for steel structures, electrical equipment, service building, and cable trench, accomplishing metalwork, installing Government-furnished power circuit breakers, station battery system, and station service equipment, furnishing and installing vee-type interrupter switches and fuse disconnecting switches, furnishing and installing voltage transformers, current transformers, and coupling capacitor voltage transformers, station service transformers, cable terminators, and safety switches, furnishing and installing grounding system, conduit, insulated conductors and cables, bus systems substation signs, indoor dc and ac distribution panelboards, approach span, and 30-foot X 68-foot service building. The contract completion date is September 30, 1997. The estimated order of magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis on or about June 12, 1996. All responsible business concerns may submit a bid which shall be considered by this Agency.
