This is a market survey to determine potential sources for constructing a cover for White Alice Landfill at NAF Adak. This is not a Request for Proposals. SF 254/255 submittals are not requested. However, interested firms may choose to submit capability statements, past performance information, etc. to Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Engineering Field Activity Northwest, Attn: Gini Dashiell, Code 0223GD, 19917-7th Ave NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370-7570. The Government anticipates negotiating a firm fixed price contract for final closure of this permitted landfill which is approx. 20 acres and is used for inert construction/demolition materials and asbestos. Expected procurement schedule: Issue CBD synopsis - JUL 96; issue RFP - SEP 96; complete construction - Aug 97. NOTE: This procurement is subject to DFARS Section 226.71, ''Preference for Local and Small Businesses'' under which businesses located in the vicinity of Adak shall be provided maximum practicable opportunity to participate in this procurement. It is anticipated that ''vicinity'' shall be considered to be the State of Alaska. The applicable SIC code is expected to be 1629 with $17 million size standard to determine small business status.
