Contractor to provide anatomic pathology services to include: (a) Tissue Biopsy Examinations - including daily transportation of specimen from Prescott VA Medical Center laboratory to the contractor's facility to be processed. Results must be returned to VA within 5 days after pick up. (b) Autopsy Examinations including pick up of expired bodies from Prescott VA Medical Center, performing autopsies, returning results to VA within 24 hours after pick up or by next working day after the gross autopsy dissection reporting the provisional diagnoses, submitting final autopsy report within 4 weeks of the autopsy. (c) Obtaining Bone Marrow Specimen including collecting bone marrow specimen from Prescott VA Medical Center as requested. Contractor must be on call to collect specimen from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (local) Monday - Friday. Results must be processed and returned within 24 hours after pick up. 2. Clinical Pathology Services including (frequency to be specified in solicitation): (a) Continuing Education Meetings for Technical Staff, Clinical & Technical Consultation, Monthly Clinical Lab Tissue Committee and Blood Transfusion Committee Meetings, Monthly Clinical Executive Board Meetings, QA Activities & Review, Direction & Consultation (Blood Bank), Maintenance of Compliance with Accrediting Bodies, meetings with clinical staff for daily status reports. 3. Contractor to provide autopsy and tissue examination technical and clerical services on a routine basis and technical and clerical services for special stains, studies, and consultations as required. Contractor shall be available for consultation on a 24 hr./day 7 day/wk. basis either in person or by phone. Contractor shall provide on site services a minimum of 12.5 hours per week to a maximum of 20 hours per week. Contractor representatives must be credentialed and privileged at the time of their initial appointment and reappraised every two years thereafter. Solicitation available on/about June 3, 1996.
