The Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) is conducting a market survey to assist in determining the feasibility of contracting for the operation of a fully integrated system to transport detainees via inter-city buses and vans, or other suitable alternative such as railroad passengers cars, throughout the INS Western Region. The following are some of the requirements necessary to perform the task: 1. Base of operations for transport runs may include but not limited to Seattle, WA; Portland/Medford OR; San Francisco/Livermore/Los Angeles and San Diego, CA; Phoenix/Tucson, AZ and Las Vegas, NV; 2. Provide, maintain and operate secure type buses capable of holding a minimum of 43-45 passengers and secure type vans capable of holding a minimum of 8 passengers. A minimum of one Immigration Officer will be provided by INS for each vehicle to provide security; 3. Flexibility in the departure/arrival times of vehicles with the ability to provide additional vehicles and drivers within twenty-four hours; 4. Provide light meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks between meals. Qualified sources interested in responding to this market survey are requested to provide a capabilities statement addressing all or part of the above requirements not later than May 15, 1996. Statement should include relevant background/experience, as well as provide business size and type of business such as Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, 8(a). Large Business, and HBCU/MI. SIC CODE 4142, $5.0 Million and SIC CODE 4011, 1500 Employees. There is no solicitation or additional information available at this time.
