shall be a solid state, radio-frequency (RF) induction heating system
capable of heating small laboratory specimens to at least 1100 degrees
Celsius in air. The specimens are typically in one of two forms; plate
specimens of 6'' in length and 1'' wide and 0.25'' thick or cylindrical
specimens of 5'' in length and 0.6'' in diameter. The specimen material
is typically Ni alloys and Ti alloys and their composites. The ends of
the specimens will be held with water-cooled grips. The equipment
shall be capable of continuous operation for at least 4000 hours. Each
system shall consist of a solid state, radio-frequency, induction
heating power supply and a temperature controller. The temperature
controller shall operate using platinum/platinum-13% rhodium (Type R)
or chromel-alumel (Type K) thermocouples as input. Delivery to
Cleveland, Ohio 44135. This procurement is a 100 percent small business
set-aside. This a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items
prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as
supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This
announcement constitutes the only solicitation, proposals are being
requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This
solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-32. The Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3567. The
Small Business Size Standard is 500. The following provisions apply to
this acquisition: 52.212-1 - Instructions to Offerors - Commercial,
52.212-4 - Contract Terms and Conditions. Offerors must include a
completed copy of the provision 52.212-3 - Offeror Representations and
Certification - Commercial Items with their offer. All documents
related to this procurement will be available via the NASA Internet
Acquisition Service (NAIS). The documents will reside on a World Wide
Web server, which may be accessed using client browsers, such as MOSAIC
