This proposed procurement will be unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 1542. The work includes renovation of 8 existing bldgs at the Naval Security Station in NW Washington, DC, for administrative offices and the new construction of a chilled water distribution system with its own stand alone structure. The bldgs consist of wood, steel, and concrete frame structures. The majority of the bldgs are masonry construction with slate roofs. Work includes demo of partitions, ceilings, and floor finishes (including the removal of hazardous materials, ie asbestos and VAT). It also includes construction of new partitions, floors and ceiling finishes. Demo and replacement of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems will also be required. Additionally, 3 new elevators will be installed and several existing elevators will be renovated for handicap accessibility. Technical proposals will be required and offerors will be evaluated on price and the following other non-priced factors: Work Plan, Project Staffing, and Past Performance. Solicitation will be issued o/a 6 June 96. Proposals due o/a 8 July 96. The estimated construction cost exceeds $10,000,000.00.
