Center (AFFTC) has a requirement for a B-2 Test Cell Adapter Kit for
the Engine Intermediate Level Functional Testing. The Government is
interested in locating qualified sources with manufacturing
capabilities to meet the following criteria. The adapter kit must
functionally test F118-GE-100 Turbo Fan Engines in an A/F MT9 enclosed
test facility. The adapter kit must support an engine with an exhaust
output of 20,000 lbs. of thrust, approximate weight of 3,365 lbs,
length of 100.5 inches, diameter of 46.54 inches. The kit consists of
support frame, engine inlet bell mouth assembly, exhaust nozzle
assembly and associated hardware. Complex bends and contours of
materials are required to meet specified tolerances in addition to
counterbored holes and spotfaced holes. The kit must conform to wall
thickness requirements for desired strength support. Aluminum, steel
and steel alloys must meet Military Standard MIL-W-8611, Stress Relief
Steel and Steel Alloys, and Military Standard MIL-W-8604, Stress
Relief Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys. Aluminum, steel and steel alloys
will be utilized in the manufacture of this assembly as well as
fiberglass, rolled steel, tubing and components. Manufacturer must have
the ability to meet all fluorescent dye penetrent inspection criteria
including Military Standard MIL-I-6888, Fluor Penetrant Inspection.
This adapter kit assembly must be validated through load testing at
customer location. Required delivery date is Jun 97. The statement of
capability must include relevant background and experience. Also,
provide your business size and type of business (e.g., SB, 8(a), LB,
etc.). Depending on responses, the future solicitation may be set-aside
for SB, reserved for the 8(a) program or issued as a full and open
