pages and language(s) of the notified document: Proposed Thirteenth
Amendment to the New Zealand Food Regulations 1984 (33 pages). 6.
Description of content: 1. Proposal to amend the list of vitamins and
minerals that may be added to certain dairy products. 2. Proposal to
amend the skim/non-fat milk standard and the reduced fat milk standard
to permit the use of carrageenan where calcium salts have been added.
7. Objective and rationale: To update New Zealand regulations,
allowing wider consumer choice. 8. Relevant documents: New Zealand Food
Regulations 1984. Notice of the amendment will be published in the
Government Gazette of New Zealand upon enactment. 9. Proposed date of
adoption: To be gazetted before 1 July 1996. Proposed date of entry
