Specialist, (303) 220-6541. The scope of work consist of, but is not
limited to: predesign and/or site evaluation reports, preparation of
design-build construction documents (30% CD's) or complete construction
documents (100% CD's), cost estimates, assistance during proposal
period, and partial or full construction administration services for
owned or leased facilities, and for repair and alteration projects
exceeding $250,000 construction costs within the State of Utah. All
work performed under this contract must utilize one of the three
standard design programs, on CAD, developed for the US Postal Service.
Therefore, all preliminary and construction documents must be CAD
drawings and maintain USPS formats. A-E firms interested in submitting
qualifications for consideration must meet or exceed the following
requirements, and will be evaluated accordingly: 1) level of
proficiency of the A-E firm in the use of autocadd, 2) familiarity,
use, and management of standard designs and/or plans for USPS or other
corporation, 3) Experience with design-build projects, 4) Previous
USPS or government experience by the proposing office and their
consultants, 5) Min. of two licensed architects in the state of Utah,
6) Min. of two licensed engineers in each of the required disciplines
(MP&E and civil), 7) proposing office must be located within 25 mile
radius of Salt Lake City, and maintain a minimum staff of 5 personnel,
8) Min. of 3 years in business, 9) previous owners references, and 10)
All architectural design, coordination, and management of the projects
must be performed by the local branch office if part of a larger
company. The selected A-E firm(s) may be awarded subsequent services
over a period of five years subject to the needs of the solicitation
for facilities in the State of Utah. Firms that have the qualifications
described above are invited to submit completed SF 254 and 255 (also,
submit SF 254 for each of the proposed consultants), and must be
received at the office shown above by close of business on June 21,
1996. Multiple awards may be made. The contract contains a requirement
for firms to provide evidence of current insurance of $200,000 of
errors and omissions per claim. Participation of Minority-Owned
businesses is a consideration in US Postal Service Architect-Engineer
selections. It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage, or
brokerage fee to any person or firm contingent upon or resulting from
award of a contract for this project. No other general notification for
this requirement will be made. Submission of SF 254 and 255 by US
Postal Service mail (Express Mail, Priority Mail, or First Class) is
encouraged. Submissions will not be retained or returned. This is not
