PORTABLE LAUNCH SYSTEM (TLAM-N PLS) FOR SUBMARINES POC Heather Jackson,

purpose of this special notice is to announce additional information
about the Nuclear Tomahawk Land Attack Missile Portable Launch System
(TLAM-N PLS) procurement (RFP N00024-96-R-6221). On 14 May 1996, NAVSEA
posted informational documents related to this procurement on the
NAVSEA 02 Internet Web Site (http://sea02www.navsea.navy.mil).
Documents posted are the DRAFT Statement of Work and appendices (handed
out at the May 8, 1996 Industry Brief), the presentation slides from
the May 8, 1996 Industry Brief, the comment sheet to be used for
submitting all comments/questions on the documents handed out at the
Industry Brief or posted on the Internet, and a list of all industry
attendees at the May 8, 1996 Industry Brief. Draft portions of the RFP
may be posted to the internet site as they are ready and will have a
separate comment period. A notice in the Special Notices section of the
CBD will be placed when any additional information is posted to the
Internet (not including updates to existing documents). For companies
who do not have Internet capability, please fax a request for a hard
copy of these documents to Heather Jackson, SEA 02621H, at
7703-602-7023. In addition, the DRAFT Unclassified System Specification
was handed out at the 8 May 1996 Industry Brief. This procurement is
not open to foreign firms and the System Specification will not be
distributed to foreign firms or posted to the Internet. For a copy of
the Unclassified DRAFT Specification handed out at the Industry Brief,
please submit a written request to Heather Jackson, SEA 02621H, at fax
703-602-7023. There is a classified portion of the System Specification
which consists of one sentence. Please submit any requests for this
portion in writing to Heather Jackson, SEA 02621H at fax 703-602-7023.
Please include the applicable CAGE and Facility codes in the request.
The classified portion of the specification will be mailed after
NAVSEA has verified that the requesting firm has the appropriate
security clearances. The April 22, 1996 Special Notice which announced
the Industry Brief also stated that the Technical Information Center
(TIC) would be open at NUWC, Newport RI. The TIC is not yet open. When
it does open, an announcement will appear in the Special Notices
