70 -- PURCHASE OF AUTOMATED DATA PROCESSING EQUIPMENT, COTS SOFTWARE AND SERVICES FROM AUTOMATED LAND AND MINERAL RECORD SYSTEM LMRS)/MODERNIZATION CONTRACT POC Bruce R. Within the current Delegation of Procurement Authority, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) intends to extend the use of the ALMRS/Modernization Contract to the land management organizations within the Department of the Interior and, on a limited basis, to the land management organizations within the Department of Agriculture. Under this initiative, the Department of Agriculture and the BLM are restricted from purchasing items off of each others contracts which are common items. Further, use of the ALMRS/Modernization contract by other Bureaus in DOI and the Department of Agriculture will be limited to those offices with a direct business relationship with the BLM or to organizations that are adopting the Initial Operating Capability of ALMRS for their use in managing land and mineral records. The Department of Agriculture is currently piloting co-location of offices with the Bureau of Land Management under the Trading Post Initiative in Colorado and in the process of co-locating the BLM Oregon State Office with the Forest Service Region 6 Office. Both the Department of Agriculture and the BLM have common RISC6000 systems. Both the DOI and the Department of Agriculture have commonality of mission concerning land management. (0143)
