H -- TESTING LABORATORY SOL IFB679-135-96(WG) DUE 071096 POC Wanda Goolsby The DVAMC, Birmingham, AL, requires lab testing services for the project entitled ''LAB TESTING, RENOVATE BUILDING 38''. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision and transportation to accomplish construction period laboratory testing, field testing and inspection for Project #679-068, Lab Testing, Renovate Building 38, for the DVAMC, 3701 Loop Road East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35404. Specifications for testing laboratory and field inspection services are included in this solicitation; however, work will be coordinated with the plans and specifications for the renovation of building 38 project. this contract will be awarded for a lump sum based on the estimated number of tests and days of field inspection, but will include unit prices for adjustment of quantities by contract modification. Tests will consist of but are not limited to the following: earthwork tests, aggregate base tests, asphalt concrete tests, concrete tests, reinforcing steel tests, mortar and grout tests, asbestos and field inspections. The term of this contract will coincide with the estimated time of performance of the construction period (600 calendar days) and be adjusted for any delays of time extensions for full duration of the construction contract. Construction contract is to be awarded 6/7/96. Only qualified labs will be considered for award of this contract, and evidence of qualifications must be submitted with bid. Principals of the testing laboratory must be registered professional engineers with a minimum of five (5) years experience in type of testing required under this contract.
