Headquarters Standards Systems Group (HQ SSG/PKT) is seeking sources who can provide software, software support and systems analyst services for the Communications Front-End Processor (CFEP). The CFEP is a computer system that accomplishes several communications functions for the Air Force Global Weather Central (AFGWC). These functions include communications processing for the AFGWC Weather Information Processing System (WIPS) and switching for weather facsimile products, Automatic Digital Network (AUTODIN) messages, the Satellite Data Handling System (SDHS) and the Automated Weather Distribution System (ADWS). The CFEP will also support future communications processing requirements for the AFGWC. The CFEP processors operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The Contractor shall be required to provide software, software support and systems analyst services for the CFEP which is located at Offutt AFB NE. The CFEP software currently resides on two Unisys 2200/443s mainframe computer systems arranged in a dual configuration(one on-line and one off-line) at Offutt AFB NE. Each mainframe computer system consists of the processors, peripheral equipment, and Distributed Communications Processors (DCP). The software required to maintain the integrity of the system is proprietary Unisys 2200 system software. The CFEP runs Unisys EXEC 42R5 operating system software; however, several routines are in either FORTRAN or Meta Assembler language (MASM). This is a sources sought synopsis to determine if anyone other than Unisys can provide and maintain the required software. A Request for Proposal (RFP) will not be issued from this advertisement. All sources having the ability to provide software, software support and systems analyst services must provide a Statement of Capabilities (SOC) to demonstrate their abilities in order to be approved as an additional source.
