International Development in Lima, Peru, is seeking proposals to
procure the services of a Private Sector Coordinating Institution
(PSCI) under the Sustainable Environmental and Natural Resources
Management Project (SEMREM). USAID/Peru intends to award a fifty-four
month performance based contract in an amount not to exceed $5,300,000.
However, approximately $4,000,000 of the contract amount is for the
purpose of making grants to local institutions for the implementation
of some Project elements, including 12 to 14 pilot demonstration
projects. The Private Sector Coordinating Institution contractor
responsibilities will be to: (i) directly implement, coordinate and
oversee implementation by grantees of the Private Sector Advocacy
Componentof SEMREM, (ii) coordinate and oversee implementation by
grantees of 12 to 14 new pilot demonstration projects, (iii) implement
a management information system to track results of elements under the
Private Sector Advocacy project component (Component B) and pilot
projects under the Demonstration Projects project component (Component
C), and (iv) coordinate of Components B. and C. activities with the
USAID/Peru Project Management Unit (PMU), the Consejo Nacional del
Ambiente (CONAM), and the Technical Assistance Provider (TAP). U.S.
organizations must bear in mind when preparing their proposals that
Peruvian organizations will be permitted to participate in the
competition for this contract. Issuance date of the RFP will be at
least fifteen (15) days after publication of this synopsis. Proposals
from prospective contractors will be due forty-five (45) days after the
