This position is being established primarily in support of that portion of the Forest Service/Alabama A&M Cooperative Agreement, which describes a Job Corps Forestry Aid Program. Instruct and train selected Job Corps students in the Forestry Aid Program and assist in their placement in college level forestry curriculum or in employment with the USDA Forestry Service, state forest service or private industry. Contractor shall participate as a Fire Fighter/Squad Boss on the Schenck Fire Team in suppressing wild fires on public lands across the United States and assist Works Program Assistant in firefighting training. The instruction and training will be conducted at the Schenck Civilian Conservation Center, located in Transylvania County, North Carolina. The Center is located approximately 1-1/2 miles north of Pisgah Forest, N.C. on U.S. Highway 276 within the Pisgah Ranger District, USDA Forest Service. Contract may consist of option years. (0143)
