provide all labor, equipment, materials, transportation, supervision
and disposal necessary for the removal and disposal of wood and rubber
fendering, a steel access ladder, a large steel jib crane, a wood
access stairway and platform, two existing fuel oil storage tanks (100
& 275 GL, and removal of 15-20 large granite stones and blocks from
boat basin. Work includes providing new access ladder and fendering
system, new steel access stairway, four new 8 inch cleats, new
handrails and constructing a rip rap jetty using new and existing
granite stones and miscellaneous related work. The estimated cost of
this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. SIC code is 1629.
Performance time is 90 calendar days. Solicitation Packages to be
available on or about June 12, 1996. Packages may be obtained by
sending a non refundable check in the amount of $20 payable to U.S.
Coast Guard, to the address listed above. Requests will be honored
until supply is exhausted. The bid opening date will be on or about
July 15, 1996. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE
FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED,
AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation
(DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU)
has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business
enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding
assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to
any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding
Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and
performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an
80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are
available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line
