59 -- FIBER OPTIC SWITCHES SOL N00178-96-R-2024 POC Nancy A. Paulisch, Code S125, (540) 653-7942. The Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, intends to procure six fiber optic switches. All of the switches must as a minimum comply with the following specifications: no optical to electrical conversions, any port to any port connectivity, 100 percent non-blocking signal throughput, 99 percent of connections less than or equal to 2.0 db and 1.0 percent of connections less than or equal to 2.5db, less than 50db crosstalk, bi-directional transmission, simultaneous multi-wavelength capability, load sharing redundant power supplies, and remote terminal and local control. In addition to the above two of the six switches shall interface with a minimum of 72 fiber paths and shall configure for use with 62.5 micron multimode fiber optic cable with ''SC'' style connectors and the other four switches shall interface with a minimum of 72 fiber paths and shall configure for use with 62.5 micron multimode fiber optic cable with ''ST'' style connectors. Included in this procurement is the installation and integration of all supplied hardware and software. The delivery schedule is 120 days from date of award. This acquisition is being considered for a small business set-a-aside. Potential offerors that meet the requirements of a small business should submit a capability statement or descriptive literature indicating their capabilities to fulfill this requirement. The SIC Code for this procurement is 3679 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. A determination will be made as to whether this procurement will be restricted to small businesses prior to release of the solicitation.
