COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 28,1996 PSA#1603Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899 70 -- RAID SUBSYSTEM SOL JM-6037-7051 DUE 071096 POC Jeff Marshall,
LSO-360, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899. Lockheed Martin Space
Operations (LMSO), NASA's Space Shuttle Processing Contractor at
Kennedy Space Center (KSC), FL, seeks sources capable of providing a
RAID subsystem with SCSI-2 interfaces. The subsystem must have hot swap
capabilities for the power supplies, the disk drives and the cooling
fans. Its power supply subsystem must provide load sharing and shall be
capable of providing uninterrupted service while a failed power supply
is being hot swapped. All hot swappable components shall be capable of
being replaced without interruption of service and the RAID subsystem
must provide automatic drive rebuilding without interruption of
service, and shall be configurable for RAID level 0, 1 and 5
capabilities at a minimum. The subsystem shall be configured with at
least 2 16 MB write-back cache which shall be battery backed-up to
ensure no loss of data on a power outage. When configured as a RAID 5,
the subsystem shall provide storage capabilities of up to 63GB, and
minimum capacity shall be equal to or greater than 24GB. The subsystem
shall come with host based configuration and monitoring software
capable of running on a Sun SPARC 5 with SunOS 4.1.3-U1, and should run
under the X11R5 window system. These utilities shall communicate via
the SCSI system and not use serial ports. The monitoring software shall
provide notification to personnel of failures of drives or power
supplies. The system shall be configured with a hot spare disk capable
of being used to replace a failed drive in the configured RAID 5
array. The subsystem must be able to rebuild the data automatically in
the background. It must be capable of running in either a standard
SunOS 4.1.3-U1 environment and the current version of Solaris (Solaris
2.3), and shall have either a redundant controller or a spare
controller with mean time replacement of less than 30 minutes. The
subsystem should be provided with all required interconnecting cables
and terminators and should be capable of being powered via standard
office 110VAC outlets. Interested firms should forward indications of
interest to reach LMSO no later than 060796. In addition to indications
of interest, data should be provided giving company capabilities,
experience in this or related field, normal product lines, and such
other data as may be useful in substantiating bona fide capability to
provide the requirements of this synopsis. Address Lockheed Martin
