(NAWCWPNS) China Lake, CA, is seeking information on advanced
technologies for medium caliber (.50 cal-35mm) gun and ammunition
systems for Naval and Marine Corps fixed-wing aviation applications.
NAWCWPNS is assembling information as directed by Strike Warfare,
N880D6, on available advanced gun systems and ammuntion technologies
that significantly enhance the capabilities of existing medium caliber
gun systems. The primary focus of the request is to identify
technologies that increase the standoff, lethality, affordability,
reliability and maintainability of gun systems and ammunition in .50 to
35mm calibers. Information on complimentary technologies associated
with targeting, sensors and fire control that improve the accuracy on
target are also sought. The information collected will be used to
support the planning process for identifying gun system and ammunition
technologies that meet near term requirements for USN and USMC
fixed-wing applications. Interested parties shall provide their
