On 19 Jun 96, The United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM) will present a briefing on the anticipated Computing Environment STRATCOM Architecture (CESAR) Contract. Contract objectives currently include: (1) Provide a responsive, affordable common operating environment for USSTRATCOM's C4I Systems (War Planning, Command and Control, Intelligence support, and Office Automation missions); (2) Facilitate a gobal battle management information system to permit interoperability not only within STRATCOM, but also for STRATCOM's role as a supported and/or supportive CINC; (3) Sustain operations and maintenance of the existing systems; (4) Modernize the computing environment; (5) Meet operational requirements; (6) Optimize resources through common solutions and manpower mix; and (7) Meet program constraints in the areas of budget, security, schedules, internal and external interfaces, operational concepts and enterprise data base applications commitments. The estimated size of the acquisition is in excess of $300 million for a contract period of five to ten years. STRATCOM anticipates using an innovative streamlined approach with a rapid assessment of the qualifications and capabilities of interested sources, to identify highly qualified firms to continue in the acquisition process. Expect session participants to provide comments on candidate acquisition strategies for the proposed effort. Additionally, feedback will be sought on better ways to incentivize and construct future USSTRATCOM contracts to minimize administrative workloads. Interested vendors responding to this notice by 7 Jun 96 will be provided an advanced agenda. Additionally, a CESAR questionnaire will be provided with responses due by 1 Jul 96. Written response to this notice must be sent by FAX or mailed to the address listed below. Your response must include the names (maximum of four) and telephone numbers of prospective attendees (seating is limited). The session will be held at the STRATCOM Theater in the Curtis E. LeMay Building (Building 500) on Offutt AFB, Nebraska beginning at 1300 and closing at 1630 on 19 Jun 96.
