Z -- REFURBISH AND MODERNIZE ELEVATOR SOL 1425-6-SP-10-07180 DUE 080196 POC Procurement Analyst, John Hedeen (208) 378-5105; Contracting Officer, Bryan Uba (208) 378-5110 The contractor will be required to refurbish and modernize an ''OTIS'' 10,000 pound capacity, 500 foot-per-minute, gearless traction elevator at the Grand Coulee Dam on the Columbia River in the state of Washington. The Government contemplates using source selection procedures through the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the following work: replacement of the motor generator set and associated control equipment with a solid- state SCR drive and control equipment including monitoring and diagnostic capabilities; replacement of the car slow-down and leveling device; renovation of the elevator car to include new top ventilation, normal and emergency lighting, heavy duty doors and floor covering; addition of a one- button operated emergency phone, replacement of car buttons, car position indicator, call buttons and direction indicators in accordance with the American Disabilities Act; provide hoistway lighting and pit water detection equipment; replace traveling and fixed cables; and adjustment and testing to meet Washington State certification. The estimated price range is $250,000 to $500,000. The tentative date for issuing the solicitation is June 17, 1996. A scheduled site visit is anticipated. This requirement is not set- aside for small business. The SIC code for this requirement is 1799 and the small business size standard is $7.0M.
