Code W31XNJ) This project covers the area between Sumatra, Florida and
Kiln, Mississippi. The contractor shall remove the existing analog UHF
transceivers, duplexers, multiplexers, channel units, power supplies,
and order wires (i.e., equipment racks) and replace them with new UHF
analog transceivers, duplexers, multiplexers, channel units, power
supplies and order wires. The contractor shall furnish all plant,
labor, equipment, accessories, and materials necessary to provide,
install, and implement the new UHF communication system in strict
accordance with the contract drawings and the specifications. The
complete communications system shall be supplied, installed, tested,
adjusted for optimum performance, and furnished to the Government as a
complete and operating system. The contractor shall be completely
responsible for the design and satisfactory performance of the
equipment supplied by him. The contractor shall complete Phase I (the
system's delivery, installation, testing and training) within 90 days
from notice of award. Phase II shall consist of placing the system in
a six month operational test and Phase III consists of a Post
Operational Test and Inspection. This notice of intent is not a request
for competitive proposals. The proposed contract action is for supplies
or services which the Government intends to negotiate for and award on
a sole source basis to MicroWave Data Systems, under the authority of
FAR 6.301. It is the Government's belief that MicroWave Data Systems
is the only source capable of providing all of the mandatory
requirements of this notice. Other organizations capable of supplying
this system may submit clear and convincing documentation of their
capabilities including technical and pricing information within 15 days
of the publication of this notice. All responsible sources may submit
a bid, proposal or quotation which shall be considered. The government
reserves the right not to open this requirement to competition based
upon technical responses to this notice. Technical responses and
requests received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be
considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a
competitive procurement. The government will not pay for any
information received. All responses should be directed to Mrs. Paula

documents are available on or about 14 June 1996. There is no charge
