Market survey: The following information is provided to assist
pharmaceutical manufacturers in using their presentation time at the
pharmacoeconomic Center (PEC) effectively. Pharmacological information
or data presented previously to the PEC on individual medications is
not needed unless significant new information will be presented. Your
presentation should tell US why your product(S) are the most COST
effective for the Department of Defense. The most appropriate use of
time will include: Head-to-head effectiveness studies of competing
therapies and combination therapies. Information relating to rates of
side effects of your product. Data relating to dropout rates due to
side effects and other causes. Patient compliance specifically related
to your product or this disease state. Patient outcomes studies.
Pharmacoepidemiological information or studies. And /or quality-of-life
studies of the diseasestate. Up to one hour is the preferred length of
a presentaiton. Due to the total number ofpresentations, each
manufacturer will be limited oto one, 1-hour presentation per disease
state. The PEC will use the lowest acquisition price available Fora
manufacturer'S product as listed on the Federal supply schedule or a
distribution and pricing agreement with the Defense Personnel Support
Center. The cut-off date for price submissions that will be considered
by the PEC will be announced at a later date. Presentations on the
treatment of non-insulin dependent (adult onset) diabetes mellitus will
