contrctor for the Department of Energy (DOE) at the Idaho National
Engineering Laboratory (INEL) is seeking expressions of interest from
companies interested in supplying an off-the-shelf software tool
(software tool) to support industrial hygiene exposure assessments.
Exposure assessment is defined as a situation where real or potential
hazards are identified in the work place. An up-front subjective
opinion is developed by a qualified industrial hygienist. Each hazard
is characterized and follow-on sampling may be done to confirm whether
or not the suspect agent actually exceeds standards. The software tool
must capture information about the up-front qualitative process as well
as the sampling back-end. The two halves must be tightly coupled to
allow extraction for epidemiological work. The software tool's database
management system (DBMS) should be Oracle or a DBMS with which Oracle
can easily interface. The software tool must utilize graphical user
interface (GUI) technology, be PC based, and networkable. The software
tool must be able to handle up to twenty concurrent users over a fiber
