The US Army ARDEC intends to negotiate with MacNeal-Schwendler Corp., Lowell, MA on a sole source basis under the approved authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii) based on the fact that the requirement is available only from the original source. This requirement covers the lease of PATRAN Software License and Software Support for a period of one year from date of award with three option years. MacNeal-Schwendler is the creator and sole supplier of their PATRAN software which is proprietary and only designed, developed, modified, produced and distributed by MacNeal-Schwendler. The software shall have demonstrated and installed ability to run under the UNIX System V Revisions 3.3.2 operating system on a Silicon Graphics 4D35TG Workstation. Interested vendors are invited to identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submitting supportive documentation. This documentation must show clear and convincing evidence of the ability to provide the required license and support described herein.
