This is a notice of intent to issue a sole source contract, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, to Video Masters, Inc., PO Box 419963, Kansas City, MO 64141-6963, for sustainment and enhancement of the Public Address System AN/PIH-1 (LSS-40), NSN 5380-01-340-0450, Line number P85743. It is envisioned that a requirements contract will best meet the needs of the government, with a minimum requirement for the sustainment and enhancement of 150 units and a maximum requirement for 230 units total. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Contractors must be aware that technologies proposed shall be exactly the same as the current AN/PIH-1 system used for both active Army and USAR PSYOPS units. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer will determine if a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended vendor and all firms that respond to this synopsis of intent or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation. No contract award will be made on the basis of any responses to this notice, as the synopsis of intent shall not be considered a solicitation document. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining the need for a competitive procurement requirement. (144)
