This notice rescinds the INS synopsis that appeared in the February 8, 1996 edition of the CBD, which announced INS' intent to negotiate a one year sole source contract for Facilities Management Services.--Due to recent findings the Government intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, an 18 month contract instead of a 12 month contract, that will assure the continuation of Facilities Management Services, to produce identification and border crosser cards, obtain the necessary consumable supplies, process immigrant visas, process adjustments of immigrant status, and create data base records, through September 30, 1997. The contractor is Electronic Data Systems Corporation, 13600 EDS Drive, Herndon, Virginia 22071. The estimated value of this contract is $17,953,040.00. These services will be performed at the Immigration Card Facility (ICF) in Grand Prairie, Texas. The ICF will be phased out during this 18 month period. The Government will be using new card production technology to produce all identification cards at the INS Service Centers.--This synopsis is published under the mandate of FAR 6.302-1(d)(2) and does not signify the pending issuance of any Request for Proposals. No mailing list will be prepared and no solicitation documents will be available for release.
