Solicitiation DACA51-96-R-0029, published in the Tuesday, 20 February 1996 CBD, for the Replacement of Generator #4 at West Point, New York, is hereby cancelled in its entirety. This project is being re-solicited under IFB#DACA51-96-B-0042. All firms that paid for the previous solicitaion DACA51-96-R-0029 will receive the new solicitation and will be requested to submit a new bid. All other interested eligible 8a firms may purchase the solicitation and submit a bid. This project is 8a competitive, and open only to qualified 8a contractors, properly certified, in the districts covered by the Newark, New Jersey and New York City Small Business Administration Offices. The project scope of work includes replacing the existing generator. The replacement is to include all structural modifications to support the generator, cooling towers and other appurtenances. The work will also include demolition of fuel tank ''A'' in accordance with USEPA and NYSDEC regulations, removal and abatement of asbestos and lead based paint, repairs to existing substation and removal of two existing river water turbine pumps. The contractor will be required to properley phase and coordinate the replacement activities in order to allow USMA Power Plant to continue operations. Loss of operations would result in massive power outages throughout the entire USMA reservation. Estimated Dollar Value:$2,000,000.00 to $3,000,000.00. Standard Industrial Classification Code is 1796. The new solicitation package will be mailed and available on or about 29 May 1996, Bid Opening Date is on or about 27 June 1996.
