Contractor is to provide a tug with 2,800 minimum continuous shaft horsepower, with at least two engines and one propeller for the towing of YD-253 from Long Beach Naval Shipyard to Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard to commence no earlier than 01 August 1996. Contractor is required to procure the services of an independent Marine Surveyor to certify the tug, tow rigging, and the seaworthiness of the towed equipment. No tandem tow is authorized.
