16 -- VALUE ENGINEERING CHANGE PROPOSAL (VECP) FOR HEAT SUPPRESSOR MATERIAL PROCESS CHANGE AND MOUNTING BRACKET REDESIGN IN SUPPORT IELDED APACHE HELICOPTERS SOL DAAJ09-94-G-0009 POC Debbie Wagener, Contract Specialist, AMSAT-A-PMAA, 314-263-0684 or Debbie Rumpf, Contracting Officer, AMSAT-A-PMAA, 314-263-0693. The Government anticipates entering into a sole source contract with McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Systems, 5000 East McDowell Road, Mesa, Arizona 85215-9797. This requirement is for implementation of VECP 1299 which was developed and submitted by the aforementioned Contractor. This VECP would change the basic material of the heat suppressor to a more tolerant material of temperature differences and vibration. Also, the current heat suppressor mounting bracket would be changed to eliminate unique left and right hand suppressor assemblies. The Government's minimum needs can only be satisfied by the unique expertise and services available from the prime manufacturer of the AH-64A. See Numbered Note(s): 22. (0151)
