The Naval Medical Logistics Command has a sole source requirement for six National Optronics, model Horizon II, dry-cut, router type lens edgers. The Navy intends to negotiate with National Optronics, Inc., Charlottesville, VA. Unit must incapable of cutting CR39, polycarabonate, and high index plastic lens. Unit must include vacuum to remove plastic debris. Unit must be capable of edging lenses with a base curve from 0-12 Diopters, on lenses up to 100mm in diameter and finished lenses down to 24mm in diameter. Unit must be capable of finishing a lens in less than 60 seconds. Unit volume can not exceed 1.75 cubic feet. Delivery shall to to Yorktown, VA. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Responses shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirements.
