66 -- OSCILLOSCOPE, DIGITAL STORAGE SOL 52WCNW606073CH POC Charles Hughes (816) 823-3447 The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to purchase 15 each TDS420A Oscilloscopes, 200 MHZ, 4 channel, RS232 Centronics SPL and RS232 Centronics Spool, 3.5'' floppy drive, pouch and cover. This equipment will be purchased from Tektronix of Beaverton, Oregon. This equipment is being purchased to support the National Weather Service NEXRAD repair and maintenance programs. The scopes will be used to maintain the WSR 88D Radars. This is a joint program involving The Department of Commerce, The Department of Defense, and The Department of Transportation. These items are currently stocked and maintained by the National Logistics Support Center and the National Reconditioning Center in support of the Try-agency members. Due to training, maintenance, and technical data issues between the three agencies, the Government believes that the TDS420A Oscilloscopes are the only instruments capable of meeting the Governments needs and authorized for purchase in support of the Nexrad program. The equipment will be purchased for the National Weather Service, National Reconditioning Center, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. The Government intends to contract with Tektronix for the equipment identified above. The proposed procurement action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit to only one source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This is not a request for proposals. A solicitation will be issued to Tektronix within 15 days of publication of this announcement. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3825. The Small Business Size Standard is 500 employees. This is not a small business set-aside (0151)
