Bentley, Contracting Officer, CSSD-CM-CN, (205) 955-1187. The U.S. Army
Space and Strategic Defense Command, Sensors Directorate, Huntsville,
Alabama, intends to award a sixty (60) month sole source contract to
Technology Development Corporation (TDC) to continue the current
efforts of developing the compact, light-weight TDC folded laser radar
sensor. The objective of this program is to develop, fabricate and
demonstrate a 6-meter gain length, compact, light-weight, coherent CO2
laser radar (ladar) sensor that is ultimately capable of being
utilized as a laser radar seeker on-board an interceptor. The laser
radar sensor must be capable of performing highly resolved range and
doppler measurements in order to support on-board discrimination and
hit-to-kill intercepts. A coherent moderate power ()100w) laser radar
seeker is required for this program. Interested companies must show a
history of proven experience in the design, fabrication, and
demonstration of laser radar technology as noted above. A SECRET
facility clearance will be required for this effort. This action is not
open to allied participation. Written request should be addressed to

The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which
this command intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source
