Installation of 36 backflow preventors on fire and potable water service to various buildings on Whiting Field. Backflows range in size from 1-3/4'' to 10'' and will generally be installed outside. Exterior backflows in most locations will be surrounded by screen walls. The screen walls will be constructed of various materials including painted concrete masonry units, brick and cast-in-pace concrete. Several backflows will be hidden by planting scrubs. All disturbed areas will be restored by sodding. There is a $50.00 (non-refundable) fee per set of plans and specifications. Make your company check or money order payable to the Navy Industrial Fund. (Cash and personal checks will not be accepted.) Plans and specifications will be available 30 days prior to the approximate bid opening date and UNTIL SUPPLIES ARE EXHAUSTED.
