S -- MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION AND EMERGENCY GENERATION SYSTEMS AT PRESIDIO OF SAN FRANCISCO, CA SOL 1443IB8140-96-030 DUE 072296 POC Contact Point, Linda Wong, (425)556-2488 The National Park Service, Golden Gate National Recreation Area has identified a requirement to procure for maintenance and repair services of the overhead and underground electrical distribution system including the street and parking area lighting and the emergency generation system at Presidio of San Francisco, CA, except Building 1801, by means of a combination fixed-price and indefinite quantity contract. The Old Public Health Hospital, Building 1801, which housed 2 substations and one generator, is under construction for asbestos removal and normal maintenance work cannot be performed. However, contractor shall be responsible for emergency maintenance and repair work which will classify as indefinite quantity work. The Wherry Housing area is EXCLUDED from this contract. The electrical power system feeding the Wherry Housing area belongs to P G & E and is maintained by P G & E. All installation and repairs shall comply with all local codes, National Electric Code, California Public Utilities Commission General Order #95 and General Order #128 for Overhead and underground electrical system. The work shall include, but not limited to, emergency service, the identification, programming, planning, scheduling, status reporting, logs, and analysis of electrical distribution and emergency generation systems operations, maintenance and repair. Electrical distribution includes all facility electrical distribution systems such as (1) overhead and underground transmission and distribution lines from delivery points to all main service entrance switches in buildings, including all substations, switchgears, transformers, breakers, protective relays, power poles, automatic reclosers, arrester, and accessories; (2) lighting systems, including street and parking area lighting, except Wherry Housing area; (3) secondary drops to the building weatherhead or the building meters. Emergency Generation System shall include all equipment in the emergency generation system such as (1) stationary, skid-mounted or mobile generators, AC power lines, service panels, motors, controls, and automatic transfer switches; (2) all components of emergency generation system, including fuel, fuel tanks, batteries, chargers, power cables, connectors, controls, and enclosures. It is anticipated that contract award shall be for a base year and two (2) 1-year options, exercisable at the sole discretion of Golden Gate National Recreation Area, subject to availability of funds. The base year shall be from Oct 1, 1996 through Sept 30, 1997. The applicable SIC Code is 1731. This solicitation is an unrestricted procurement inviting full and open competition.
