This solicitation consists of 2 sites of grading, base and paving to repair flood damage. Project includes: construction survey & staking; temporary traffic control; 150 ton minor asphalt concrete; 600 lnft curb & gutter; 500 ton untreated aggregate courses; 1,300 cuyd excavation & embankment; 900 sqyd earthwork geotextiles; 40 hr ea of grader, excavator, loader/backhoe, dozer, truck; 300 lnft curb removal, 750 sqyd asphalt removal; 240 hr flagging. Project is located approximately 25 miles southeast of Olympia, Washington. Work shall be completed by October 1, 1996. Estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Presolicitation Notices are being provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the publication of this synopsis.----The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
