shall terminate the travel of all properly directed bullets. The trap
shall be constructed of a rubber facing to reduce the speed of the
round. The round will then enter a void filled with granulated rubber.
This granulated material will stop the round and leave the bullet
largely intact preventing backsplater and fragmentation. The trap will
make lead recovery and recycling simple and safe. The system will
allow for the reintroduction of the granulated material into the void
of the trap. The trap must be capable of stopping rounds from M-16,
9mm, and .38 caliber weapons at a distance of 50 yards. The bullet trap
will be used on an outdoor small arms firing range. (155) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0252 19960605\13-0002.SOL)
