This project includes government furnished uninterruptible power supply installation and associated system modifications and sprinkler flow switch connections and override control panel modifications at Building 1268 and 1268C, West area, NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. Offerors may visit the job site at 10 a.m. June 25, 1996. Offerors will meet in Building 1195A, Room 160, West Area, from there a NASA representative will accompany offerors to the job site. ''This synopsis is to advise that a written Request for Quotation (RFQ) is available as described below. Offerors attending the job site will be given the RFQ at that time. Otherwise, the RFQ will be mailed to the offeror upon receipt of a written request. An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors, potential offerors, and contractors during the preaward and postaward phases of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the contracting officer, the Source Evaluation Board, or the selection official, but to communicate concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations of interested parties to the appropriate Government personnel and to work to resolve them. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals, the source selection process, or the adjudication of formal contract disputes.
