THIS SOLICITATION IS BEING ISSUED ON AN ``UNRESTRICTED'' BASIS INVITING FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for CIs prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Description of Supplies/Services: Dedicated TI Internet connection, 24 hour availability with unlimited usage, class ``c'' IP Addressing, server software and network maintenance. Technical support service, hardware installation and setup. Complete Internet access for electronic mail, file transfer, keyboard-to-keyboard teleconferencing, World-Wide-Web (WWW) browsing, desktop video teleconferencing capability, audio file exchange, data base interfacing, news group review, and any Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) supported applications. It further allows support with our other C4I automated data processing (ADP) systems by allowing file and E-mail exchange with commercial entities whose software products are already in use at JIATF East. Detailed Description - Two high-end PC's. These serve as firewall and host server, respectively. The firewall will preclude unauthorized access to the internal host server and terminals within our local area network (LAN). The host server provides application products and connectivity data for our internal users. Included is the Berkeley Systems Data (BSD) operating system, a Unix-based client/server supporting the TCP/IP family of protocols that will run on a PC. (1) Volcano firewall system Pentium 90 PCI, 8mb RAM 420Mb hard disk drive system, twin 3com high performance Ethernet cards. Complete firewall implementation Proxy Web, FTP, email, telnet servers Model Number GLG1, 1 each. (2) Pentium 90 PCI ``bare bones'' system 32mb RAM, PCI SCSI controller, 4.2gb fast SCSI-2 hard disk drive, 3com Ethernet Model Number GS1, 1 each. (3) Modem Rack. This provides dial-in service for our users while deployed TAD/TDY, who do not have conventional Internet connectivity, 1 each. (4) 56k line Internet Access Setup, 1 job. (5) 10 port terminal server. This is a hardware router that provides host-addressing resolution for the routing of packet frames throughout the LAN and into the Internet, as well as Ethernet and RS-232D serial communications connections for the devices of the host, 1 each. (6) Comms Service nit/Data Service Unit. This hardware device converts the digital information of the host to analog tone signaling to transport the data over the land line circuit, 1 each. (7) 1/4''Tape Backup. Periodic backups of all software are a protection measure for all software and allow the ease of archiving the log and activity data of the system, 1 each. (8) Domain Setup. This would register the host machine and all terminals on the LAN to allow data exchange, 1 job. (9) Software support. An on-call troubleshooting desk to provide support in case of catastrophic failure, 1 each. (10) Hardware Installation. Configure hardware for addressing the firewall protection and server capabilities, conduct an on-benchburn-in or test period, then install the system, 1 job. (11) Newsfeed. Access to news groups residing at the Netrunner host machine on a ``pull-as-described'' basis, 1 each. (12) Monthly access. This is the recurring item that fuels the Internet, 1 each. Contract award will be based on the most advantageous proposal (best value) to the Government. Closing date for receipt of proposals will be on or about 01 July 1996.
