DISA/DITCO/DTS42 2300 East Drive Scott AFB IL 62225-5406

70 -- AUTOMATED TAPE LIBRARY/ROBOTICS TAPE LIBRARY PRE- SOLICITATION CONFERENCE POC Contact, Lisa Bockstruck, 618-256-9721 Synopsis number 96172. This announcement modifies synopsis number 96151. The date for the Pre-Solicitation Conference for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Automated Tape Library/Robotics Tape Library (ATL/RTL) has been changed to June 19 and 20, 1996 at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The Government intends to brief their ATL/RTL requirements in the afternoon of June 19, 1996. Please note that the Government requires ATL/RTL technology that is capable of storing and handling via robotics thousands of already recorded IBM 3480/3490E tape cartridges. The Government will entertain questions from vendors upon completion of the Governments briefing. Since the purpose of the vendor briefings is to provide technical ATL/RTL data to the Government, only Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will be afforded the opportunity to brief the Government on their ATL/RTL technology following the question and answer period on June 19 and 20, 1996. The vendor briefings are in no way meant to provide the Government a vendor capabilities brief. Vendors who want to be present during the OEM presentations will be allowed the opportunity at the OEMs option. This does not preclude any vendor from submitting a proposal in response to the solicitation when issued. All vendors are encouraged to attend the Governments briefing on the afternoon of June 19, 1996. The vendor presentations will be done in a one-on-one closed environment to protect the vendors disclosures at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Each OEM briefing shall last no more than 60 minutes with a 20 minute question and answer period. The order of presentations will be determined by random selection. At the Pre-Solicitation Conference, we encourage open interchange of information between DISA and our industry partners. No fee is associated with attending the conference. All interested attendees must provide their company name, name(s) and title(s) of all attendees, mailing addresses, telephone numbers (both voice and fax), and, if an OEM, whether or not it intends to make a presentation by close of business June 12, 1996 via data-fax or e-mail to: BOCKSTRL@DITCO.DISA.MIL, fax number (618) 256-9414. If you previously responded as attending, you must contact the point of contact and provide any changes in attendees and whether or not you intend to make a presentation. (0156)
