Furnish inspections of playgrounds and equipment located in family housing areas at Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA. Quarterly inspections will be conducted in 57 playground areas according to procedures recommended by the National Safety Council, American National Standards Institute and local Marine Corps regulations. In addition to maintaining the equipment in good safe condition the grounds will be maintained in conditions that will ensure that the playgrounds offer a safe place for children to play. This will include, but not limited to providing asbestos-free sand or mulch under all equipment where children could fall, to trimming or removing outdoor plants or shrubbery around the playgrounds. Contract period, from 1 October 1996 through 30 September 1997, plus four, one (1) year options. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered.
