Janice Spruill Correction: This solicitation was originally published
in the CBD dated on or about 6 November 1995. The Atlantic Division,
Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Norfolk, Virginia intends to
acquire Operation, maintenance and repair of
thedesalinization/electrical generation plant, electrical distribution
system, the water plant, water tanks, and water distribution system at
the U.S. Naval Base, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The contractor shall furnish
all personnel, supervision, management,administration, hand tools,
power tools, pre-expended material, transportation, and office
equipment to provide, on a continuous basis the required services. This
is a combination firm fixed price/indefinite quantity award fee type
contract for a baseperiod of one year with options to extend, total
duration not to exceed sixty (60) months. The proposed solicitation is
unrestricted. Specifications will be available on or about 3 June 1996
on a first come, first serve basis. The cost for the firstset of
specifications is $25.00. The cost for the second set of specifications
is $35.00. No more than two sets of specifications will be provided to
each requester. Specifications will not be forwarded until receipt by
this command of anonrefundable check or money order made out to
Atlantic Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Norfolk,
Virginia. Contractors who previously requested a copy of the
specifications, do not need to make another request. A
pre-proposalconference is planned for 10-11 July 1996 at the U.S. Naval
Base, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Access to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba is tightly
controlled and a minimum of 12 days advance notice is required to
receive area clearance. Transportation to GuantanamoBay, Cuba and
lodging are extremely limited. Transportation can be provided by the
Government or private sources. The scheduled Government flight to
Guantanamo Bay, Cuba from Norfolk, Virginia will be approximately 0800
Tuesday, 9 July 1996 withreturn to Norfolk, Virginia on Friday, 12
July 1996 at approximately 2045. Round trip air transportation cost is
approximately $572.00 per person payable in cash/check at the MAC
Terminal, Naval Air Station, Norfolk, Virginia. Transportation
onprivate airlines can be arranged by contacting the carriers in
Guantanamo Bay: Fandango Airlines at (305) 462-2552 or Tropical
Airlines at (305) 434-8900. Based on limited accommodations,
reservations for no more than two (2) representatives from
eachprospective offeror will be accepted. To make arrangements for
