R -- A STUDY OF CLINICAL DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEMS (CDSS) - STATUS, USAGE AND BARRIERS TO IMPLEMENTATION: EVALUATION STUDY SOL AHCPR-96-0006 POC Contracting Officer, Sharon Williams, (301) 594-1445 The Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) is soliciting proposals for a contract to conduct a study of Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS). The contract has three objectives; (1) to identify vendors of CDSS and describe the characteristics of these commercially available systems, including (a) the sources of the medical knowledge imbedded or accessed by the CDSS, and (b) the extent to which they integrate AHCPR's Clinical Practice Guidelines and other guidelines; (2) to describe the health care environments in which CDSS are utilized and the extent to which these systems are integrated with other clinical information systems in these environments; and (3) describe the perceptions regarding barriers to the wide spread adoption and use of CDSS. The estimated solicitation release date is 15 days following publication of this announcement. Proposals will be due approximately 30 days after issuance of solicitation.
