Y -- RENOVATION/MODIFICATION OF ANECHOIC CHAMBER USED TO MEASURE SPACECRAFT ANTENNA RADIATION PATTERNS AT NASA/GSFC SOL RFO5-51153/121 POC Susan Hendrix, Contract Specialist, 301-286-7975, Cindy Tart, Contracting Officer, 301-286-7663. NASA/GSFC intends to issue Request for Offers (RFO)5-51153/121 for the rehabilitation and modification of an Anechoic Chamber located at GSFC, Greenbelt, Maryland. This facility will be modified to house a new hybrid 75 foot tapered/40 foot (approximate dimensions) compact anechoic chamber. The tapered portion shall operate from 0.35 to 18 GHz; compact portion shall operate from 2 to 94 GHz. The chamber is and will continue to be used to measure spacecraft antenna radiation patterns for various NASA missions such as SMEX, MIDEX, XTE, and TRMM, and radio frequency instruments at millimeter frequencies. The Contractor shall be responsible for all architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, electricl, and radio frequency renovations, including the absorber selection and installation. The existing chamber will be upgraded in order to obtain additional frequency ranges for future NASA flight missions, and to meet current fire safety standards/codes. Scientific Atlanta Compact Reflector Model 5706 will be provided to the Contractor as Government-furnished equipment (GFE). Estimated magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Construction shall be completed within 240 calendar days after issuance of Notice To Proceed. This procurement is being conducted under NASA's MidRange Procurement Pilot Test Program and is 100% set aside for Small Business concerns.
