The project consists of the design and installation of a complete electrical cable operated elevator system capable of carrying passengers and freight to replace the existng electric cable operated overhead traction elevator system in Building 1107 located on Hanscom AFB, Massachusettts. Car and entire system will be in accordance with the latest edition of life safety codes and the uniform accessibility code. The items of work include but are not limited to design of system, installation of new controls, drive motor, cables, and car. Design drawings must be prepared on Intergraph Microstation version 5.0. The nature of the project dictates the need for an experienced contractor that possesses the management, financial, technical, and equipment capabilities required to design and construct an elevator system. Qualified firms should have recent experience in the design and construction of elevators and should demonstrate experience on integrating and coordinating all aspects of the project. The prime contractor must be an elevator installer that is certified by the manufacturer of the elevator and the state of Massachusetts and will be required to perform no less than thirty percent (30%) of the total contract with their own personnel. An exclusionary period will not be applied to the work. The magnitude for the entire project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
