16 -- F/A-18C/D DIGITAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM SOL N00019-94-G-0291 POC Contact, Robert Minjack, Phone (703)604-6100 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a cost plus fixed-fee (CPFF) delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-94-G-0291 with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace for installation and integration of a Digital Communication System (DCS) into F/A-18C/D and E/F Aircraft Weapon Systems including flight test and evaluation. The anticipated period of performance is forty-eight (48) months. As sole designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of the F/A-18 aircraft, MDA is the only firm which possesses the requisite knowledge of the aircraft's design and operation in order to provide support for this installation and integration effort. Additionally, only MDA has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data and expertise, facilities and test equipment to provide the Government's minimum needs in a timely manner.
