Affairs (VA) is conducting market research for its Procurement of
Automated Information Resource Solutions (PAIRS) acquisition (SIC
7379-Computer Related Services, N.E.C.) and is seeking input from firms
experienced with these types of acquisitions. The PAIRS solicitation
seeks to acquire the full range of integration and support type
solutions to improve the efficiency of service to its customer.
Specifically, the contract seeks to acquire site surveys, integration
solutions, site analysis, pilot projects. software development, design
and implementation solutions, wiring/cabling, networking solutions and
installation, support services (maintenance, help desk), engineering,
training solutions, program management, and market research. VA will
conduct a working session on June 18, 1996, in Washington, DC, to seek
input on acquisition strategies and approaches. VA is seeking
participation from firms with experience in managing contracts of
similar size, scope and complexity. VA also seeks input from small and
small disadvantaged businesses. Parties interested in participating in
this market research should contact Judith Sterne via FAX at (202)
273-7448. While input is welcome from all firms, space is limited and
VA reserves the right to restrict attendance. All requests received by
June 12, 1996, will be considered for participation. VA will notify
firms that have been selected via fax by June 14, 1996. Attendance will
be limited to two participants from each invited firm. Discussion
topics will include but not limited to: 1. Evaluation criteria 2.
Pricing strategies and approaches 3. Socio-economic goals and
subcontracting plans 4. Best practices 5. Use of oral presentations Any
information provided to the attendees will be provided to all
interested parties via the VA BBS. The information acquired from this
research maybe used to assist VA in the further development of the
