SLOVAK REPUBLIC: NATURAL MINERAL WATER The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 96.135. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: SLOVAK REPUBLIC. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2:) 2. Agency responsible: Slovak Ministry of Health. Agency or authority designated to handle comments regarding the notification can be indicated if different from above. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Natural healing mineral water and natural table mineral water, bottled or otherwise packaged. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: STN 86 8001 Natural Mineral Water in Consumer Package (11 pages, available in Slovak). 6. Description of content: The Standard determines quality requirements for natural mineral water in consumer package, as beverage distributed to the public sales network. It includes specifications for allowed modifications, bottling, packaging, storage, labelling and supplying finished goods. The extent of the finished goods inspection is also determined. 7. Objective and rationale: There was no technical standard dealing with bottling natural mineral water into consumer package available till now. The proposed Standard fills the gap. 8. Relevant documents: STN 86 8001 is related to the Slovak Standard STN 86 8000 (Natural Mineral Water, Natural Healing Water and Natural Mineral Table Water) which is harmonized with Codex Standard for Natural Mineral Waters 108 - 1981 - European Regional Standard. 9.
