The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), acting through the USAID Mission to Egypt (USAID/Egypt), intends to do a noncompetitive extension of Contract No. 263-0209-C-00-9096-00 with KPMG Peat Marwick LLP, for Technical Assistance, Public Finance Administration in Egypt. The modification will add additional level of effort of 525 person months for 15 months from June 30, 1996 to September 30, 1997 to continue support by USAID to the Public Finance Administration project to complete phase II of the National Tax Component. Because of the need for a continuing relationship between the contractor and the Government of Egypt, substantial duplication of costs and the possibility of unacceptable project delays, USAID/Egypt intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to the authority of AIDAR 706.302-70 and CIB 96-13, Class Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition for Follow-on Amendments.
